Codename: Spider - Review

Codename:Spider is a platform that run all AMD component from the processor to graphic card to chipset. Here I will summarize each of the component.

Processor: Phenom Quad Core
AMD have released their Quad Core processor which is under Phenom series called Agena. The 'Spidey' used Phenom 9000 series for its processing unit. There are 2 types of 9000 series which is:
  • Phenom 9500 : 2.2GHz | 4 x 512KB L2 Cache | 2MB L3 Cache
  • Phenom 9600 : 2.3GHz | 4 x 512KB L2 Cache | 2MB L3 Cache
Basically the difference is the clock speed. 2.2 GHz and 2.3GHz.

Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series
Ok, for this 'Spidey' AMD used ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series and I'll give a brief description about HD 3870 and HD 3850.
  • HD 3870 - 2.25 GHz clock speed | 512 MB memory | 256 Bit | Crossfire
  • HD 3850 - 1.66 GHz clock speed | 256 MB memory | 256 bit | Crossfire
Thats pretty much of difference.

Chipset : 7 series chipset
We have 2 chipset type here. AMD 790FX Chipset designed for high-performance gamers and professional overclockers and AMD 790X Chipset designed for gamers and HD enthusiasts. The difference? :
  • 790FX : Quad Graphics on a single motherboard (ATI CrossFireX™ Support)
  • 790 X : Dual Graphics (ATI CrossFireX™ Support)
This 'Spidey' is worth it to buy. Have a better review (self revision - :P) by searching it on the internet.
Try search this -> CODENAME:SPIDER review
or you want something specific, try this -> HD 3870 review performance

Thats all from me now. If I got something new about 'Spidey', I'll update it here.

Peace ~
